Designing Quilts For Machine Quilting With Home Sewing Machines

Introduction: I have designed and built many quilt frames over the past several years. All of my frames are specifically designed to utilize home sewing machines. Designed to emulate and enable the quilter to achieve long arm quilting techniques at home. Here are the Machine Quilt Frames Options

Trying out a variety of frames for lots of different types of quilts and quilting I began just having some fun designing art quilts. (I consider all quilts works of art, the art quilts I am talking about are more compositions representing designs inspired by nature and my project I have named the "Edge" further described in this blog

I create designs and want to share with other quilters the way I approach my designs and the processes and techniques I use to make the finished quilts. I hope my work will be of interest and value to assist you in your designing.

After I complete my design work I print key design elements full size on fabric backgrounds and then apply different fabric pieces as well as other media that I will use in creating the finished product.
My designs lean towards quilts with themes based on nature but am also working on some designs of the city urban landscapes that are rich in color and thoughtful design. I would really like other quilters who would like to use my designs as a starting point to take some of my design work and apply their own ideas.
